What is Mehendi?

Mehendi or Henna is an ancient indian body art that dates back as far as 5,000 years. It is used in creating intricate ethnic or contemporary designs and exotic patterns on various parts of the body, though traditionally applied to the hands & feet of women preparing for special ceremonies such as weddings it is completely natural, non-permenent & painless.

At Channel Youth volunteers can opt for our introductory workshop into the ancient art of Henna.   In the workshop volunteers learn a brief history of the art, as well as how to create and apply basic henna designs.  Volunteers also have the opportunity to have their own design applied by our experienced Mehendi workshop tutor.
